The most common question I get is “when is the best time to come to Lake Texoma?” Well, you asked and I’ll tell you…RIGHT NOW! If you are looking to get a Lake Texoma Trophy on your wall, then now is the time. Take a day off and get here! Now of course, there are no guarantees in fishing, but timing is a big part of the equation.
A couple of months from now our Lake Texoma Striper will migrate up the Red and Washita Rivers for their annual spawn. Before they start their adventure they must gorge themselves with shad to build up fat reserves for the up stream trip, as well as egg production for spawning. The big striper have been on the feed the last week. This should continue through mid March. Last 4 trips we have caught trophy fish worthy of hanging on your wall. 15.7 lbs, 17.2 lbs, 16.1 lbs and 15.5 lbs were the big fish the last 4 trips last week.
